Traditional Afghan feast with qabili palaw, kabob, and fresh naan
El Cajon · San Diego

A taste of Kabul,
made fresh every morning.

Family-run Afghan kitchen, bakery, and grocery. Home of the best Sheer Yakh in California — hand-churned with real kaymak and pistachio.

Our Story

Authentic Afghan food, cooked the way our grandmothers taught us.

Since opening in El Cajon, we've become a home away from home for the Afghan community and a discovery for everyone else. We bake fresh naan in our tandoor every day, marinate our kabobs in-house, and hand-churn our Sheer Yakh in small batches — exactly the way it's made in Kabul.

Signature

Sheer Yakh — the taste of home.

Real Afghan ice cream, made in-house the traditional way: churned with milk, cardamom, rosewater, and saffron, then finished with generous scoops of kaymak and hand-crushed pistachios.

"Best ice cream in the world. Authentic Afghan sheer yukh — can't recommend this enough."

Fresh Afghan Bread, Daily

Baked in-house from morning to night. Regulars take a stack home; visitors leave with the whole tandoor smell in the car.

The Market

More than a restaurant.

Alongside our kitchen, we run a full Afghan grocery: basmati rice by the sack, hand-selected spices and masalas, fresh halal meat, teas, sweets, and traditional cookware. Everything you need for a proper Afghan table.

  • Fresh halal meat
  • Basmati rice
  • Whole spices & masalas
  • Afghan teas
  • Sweets & pastries
  • Traditional cookware
